Bertrand Piccard and Erik Solheim (UN director): “Options and solutions for a clean energy future”
UN Environment joins efforts with Switzerland and Solar Impulse to promote a cleaner energy future through two main engagements at Astana EXPO. Firstly, a high-level Dialogue: “Options and solutions for a clean energy future” (working title) with Erik Solheim, Bertrand Piccard and the Swiss ambassador to Kazakhstan Urs Schmid.
This interactive roundtable will allow participants to hear how smart and sustainable choices in the energy sector could contribute to the current challenges of energy security, air pollution and, more generally, sustainable societies.
This event will take place on the 24th of August in the Swiss pavilion. 50 participants - influencers in Central Asia - will be invited to attend the dialogue. The event will be broadcasted and thus accessible, live, for the broader public online. The event will be followed by a networking cocktail.
In addition to the dialogue, a working breakfast with the Kazak authorities and a lunch with selected Central Asian journalists will be organized.
Preventing of Human Trafficking in Supply Chains, especially as related to Energy and Extractive Industries
