Rules for #myhouseofswitzerland Instagram contest

Presence Switzerland, which is part of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, is organising a competition on Instagram from July 1st to August 31st with the hashtag #myhouseofswitzerland. The competition is free of charge and participants are under no obligation to buy anything.

1. Who can take part?

The competition is open to everyone in Switzerland and abroad who is aged 18 or over, and to minors with their parents’ approval. Presence Switzerland staff members could can take part in the competition but are not eligible for a prize.

Presence Switzerland reserves the right to require participants to show proof that they meet these conditions to qualify for a prize.

In order take part, participants must have a public Instagram account and be subscribed to the @houseofswitzerland Instragram feed.

Participation in this competition implies acceptance of these rules.

2. How to take part?

During eight weeks, from week 28 to week 36, Presence Switzerland will select a random picture from the past week, published with the hashtag #myhouseofswitzerland at least, and the identification @houseofswitzerland (on the picture or in the comment). To be eligible, pictures must have a strong link with Switzerland (Swiss landscapes, Swiss products, Swiss traditions, Swiss memories, …).

Publish more than a picture per week will increase chances to win. Participants are not permitted to publish a picture without having the rights on it, and the content of the picture and comments must not contravene the Instagram Terms of Use.

Participants in the contest remain owners of their pictures. Presence Switzerland reserves the right to use these pictures on social media accounts, website www.houseofswitzerland.org or any other medium, with mention of the participant's Instagram account.

3. Winners and prizes

3.1. Selection and announcement of winners

After each week during the period of the contest (1st and 2nd July are integrated to week 27), a winner is drawn among the participants of the week. To announce the winner, Presence Switzerland will publish a "Stories" on Instagram with the winner's picture on the next Monday or Tuesday. The picture will also be published in an appropriate headline www.houseofswitzerland.org. The winner is also directly informed by direct message (Instagram).

Participants authorize Presence Switzerland to communicate their username on social media accounts, website www.houseofswitzerland.org or any other medium. Non-winning participants will not be contacted by Presence Switzerland.

3.2. Distribution of prizes

To receive their prize, winners are requested to inform Presence Switzerland of their postal address within 7 days. Winners who do not contact Presence Switzerland within 7 days are deemed to have forfeited their prize. If this situation happens, a new winner will be picked for the same prize.

3.3. Prizes

Eight Happy Lilly cows will be sent to the winners during the competition. The winners agree to accept this prize and not to sell it or exchange it for goods or services of any kind.
