We are hiring for the House of Switzerland South Korea 2018 at the Winter Olympic Games in 2018 in Pyeongchang, we are offering from 22 January to 28 February 2018.

Presence Switzerland (PRS) is an agency of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. It is responsible for managing Switzerland’s official presence abroad, and as part of this mandate it implements the Federal Council’s strategy on Switzerland’s communication abroad.

Presence Switzerland supports the protection of Switzerland’s interests by using various public relations tools. Its tasks include transmitting general knowledge about Switzerland, the forging of understanding for Switzerland, as well as a portrayal of Switzerland’s diversity and attractiveness.

PRS implements this mandate through projects abroad, hosting visits to Switzerland for foreign media professionals and decision-makers, developing and distributing information materials in other countries about Switzerland and managing Switzerland’s official presence at major international events such as the Swiss pavilion at world expos and the Olympic Games (House of Switzerland).

For the House of Switzerland South Korea 2018 at the Winter Olympic Games in 2018 in Pyeongchang, we are offering from 22 January to 28 February 2018 the position of:

Teamleader in communication and public relations

In this function, you will be the team leader of the communication and public relations team of the House of Switzerland.

The job involves the following:
  • Leading a team of approximately three employees
  • Coordination and implementation of communication and public-relations measures (media work, social media, promotions and events)
  • Point of contact for the PR Agency concerning the implementation of PR activities
  • Composing and drafting texts in English and if possible in Korean (including texts for the media dossier, the website, social media and so on)
  • Compiling and generating content for the different communication channels with a special focus on social media
  • Compiling, preparing and distributing media dossiers
  • Taking care of the media hotline and media inquiries
  • Realization and assistance of media tours in the House of Switzerland
  • Handling and updating media and contact lists
  • Coordination and liaison with technical systems, partners, suppliers, agencies and internal functions
  • Participation in the evaluation of marketing and communication measures
  • Administrative tasks in the field of marketing, communication and public relations (such as deployment rosters for the team, daily programme and so on)
  • Support for the planning, preparation and holding of media conferences by Swiss Olympic
Ideally, what you have to offer will include:
  • An upper-secondary-school leaving certificate at 'matura' / baccalaureate level or equivalent, as well as professional experience in the field of communication, marketing or public relations
  • Very good knowledge of English, German and/or French. Good knowledge of Korean would be an advantage.
  • Very good user knowledge of MS Office
  • Affinity to social media
  • Grasp for editorial work
  • Manifest skills in organization
  • Ability to work autonomously, with a great sense of responsibility and attention to detail
  • Friendliness and keeping calm under pressure, even in hectic situations
  • Reliability, team spirit and stamina
  • Willingness to take on additional tasks spontaneously outside of your contractual field of activity
  • Smart appearance, customer-focused and assured manner
  • An education (in progress or completed) in the field of communication, marketing or public relations would be an advantage
  • Professional experience in the international context would be an advantage
General conditions of employment:
  • Workplace: House of Switzerland South Korea 2018 in Pyeongchang
  • Your flight from Zurich to Seoul and back is organized and paid
  • Your fares within South Korea to Pyeongchang are paid
  • Accommodation (single room/shared bathroom) is provided
  • Transport from your accommodation in Pyeongchang to the House of Switzerland is organized and paid
  • Lump-sum payment gross of CHF 1’800/month or KRW 2'071'380/month
  • 16 breakfast-vouchers – rest of meals are not covered
  • Swiss resident living in Switzerland or foreign resident with residence permit in Switzerland: employment in accordance with Swiss regulations. Berne is the place of jurisdiction.
  • South Korean or foreign resident with residence permit for South Korea: employment in accordance with South Korean regulations. Seoul is the place of jurisdiction.
  • You work shifts, also on weekends
