Water sports

  • Swimming (6-13 August)
  • Synchronized Swimming (15-16 August)
  • Triathlon (18/20 August)

Are Swiss swimmers in their element in water? In Los Angeles in 1984, the swimmer Etienne Dagon demonstrated his prowess by winning the bronze in the 200m breaststroke. Since then, however, Swiss athletes have mainly excelled in events where they can combine disciplines and finish the race on solid ground. Since the triathlon was introduced in 2000, the Swiss have won no less than four medals, including two gold medals at the Olympics  – which is itself a world record!
