«House of Switzerland» - Milan 2022
April 26th to June 12th, 2022
Next stop for the House of Switzerland: Milan! After a successful first leg in Stuttgart, from 26 April Switzerland will be showcasing itself in another strategic neighbouring region. In the design and fashion metropolis of Milan, Switzerland will present its innovative and creative flair.
Just a stone's throw from Milan's Corso Garibaldi, the House of Switzerland will be taking up residence at the Casa degli Artisti – a creative, artistic space at the heart of the city – from the end of April to mid-June. From this key location in the Brera design district, it will serve as a meeting point between Italy and Switzerland – a platform where players from business, science, politics and culture from the two countries can come together and exchange views on their shared outlook for the future.
Spread over 1,250 square metres on three floors, the House of Switzerland will host a series of thematic events and temporary exhibitions. Plans include panel discussions, networking events, official meetings, workshops and film screenings on innovation, sustainability, art and culture.
To coincide with Milan Design Week 2022 in June, the House of Switzerland will be completely devoted to Switzerland's world-famous design. In collaboration with the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, the Haute École d'Arts Appliqués (HEAD), the École Cantonale d'Art de Lausanne (ECAL), ETH Zurich, Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU), the Istituto Svizzero di Milano and various partners from the private sector, the vitality of Swiss design landscape will be presented at the House of Switzerland. Among other things, a new generation of Swiss designers will present their work, dealing with the effects of social, ecological and technological change on our living spaces.
In addition to the exhibitions and events, the House of Switzerland will also play host to a Swiss culinary experience: the in-house bistro 'Degustazione' will serve menus that support local communities and the environment. Its slow food concept, enriched with wild, aromatic and medicinal herbs, will offer a special experience for the taste buds. For the duration of the House of Switzerland, the menu will be supplemented with selected sustainable Swiss products.
