Tokyo 2020 - House of Switzerland
July 22nd to September 6th, 2020
The House of Switzerland will open its doors in the heart of Tokyo from 22 July to 6 September 2020. Here it will present a multifaceted Switzerland and serve as a meeting place for the Japanese and international public, Swiss athletes, sports enthusiasts, journalists and decision-makers from political and economic circles.
Throughout the entire duration of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the House of Switzerland will invite the public to experience the thrill and excitement of the Games in the centre of the capital in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Located on Cat Street, just a stone's throw from the famous Omotesando Avenue in the lively Shibuya district, the House of Switzerland will occupy an existing architectural space designed by minimalist architect Nobuo Araki.
While walking through this charming little Swiss pop-up village, the public will enjoy a variety of activities and attractions typical of Switzerland. Visitors will be able to make their way through the realms of art, culture, innovation and tourism by visiting the various buildings forming part of the House of Switzerland. Swiss design will be in the spotlight, with the House of Switzerland taking the public on a journey of discovery around the creative side of Switzerland. The layout of the site, exhibitions and other art installations will present this little-known aspect of Switzerland in Japan. The visit to the House of Switzerland will also be an opportunity to discover some of Switzerland's most iconic products, thanks to the participation of various private and public partners. And if visitors want to taste some culinary specialities, there will also be a cheese and wine bar offering authentic Swiss dishes.
See you in Tokyo!
