In the year Nestlé celebrates its 150th anniversary, nothing could be more exciting than honoring such a date in Brazil – a country that has been part of Nestlé’s history since 1921 – and during one of the world’s biggest sports event. On 50m², Nestlé presents milestones of its history, besides exhibiting iconic products, like condensed milk (Leite Moça), farine lactée (flour with milk), coffee and chocolate, that remind of its Swiss origin and 95 years of Brazilian operations. Visitors can also know a little bit more about Nestlé participation in Brazil’s women volleyball team for over 20 years.

One of the highlights is the 200 m² outdoor synthetic ice rink with a capacity of 50 people. The material does not melt in the heat and works without electricity or water. Visitors are able to borrow skating equipment on-site.

Switzerland Tourism will promote a real open-air park with a lot of winter attractions. One of them is a replica of the first rotary cable car in the world, which offers the visitor the feeling of flying over the mountains, that retain snow all year round. Visitors can also check out a typical Swiss train, enjoying a trip with virtual reality 3D glasses. The giant snow globe, which was a huge hit in House of Switzerland during the World Cup in 2014, will also be back!

Swiss food is not only about cheese and chocolate! A unique opportunity for guests to enjoy a culinary journey to our iconic Swiss meals. One of the main culinary attractions are the three modern Swiss fire pits: the Feuerringe. The concept combines the Swiss tradition of barbecuing with the Brazilian churrasco. For both countries, the good company and sensory pleasures centred around the fire are fundamental. A good party needs good food! Our Swiss chef Chris Züger and his team will do his best to make it happen. His passion is to make Swiss recipes meet Brazilian traditions.

For those who like to practise sports, on the Omega sprint track visitors are able to test their speed and sprint to the finish line on the 20-metre track, taking home a souvenir photo of the race and their time.

Swiss-Brazilian soul and pop singer Marc Sway will for sure have everybody at the House of Switzerland dancing and singing. His groove certainly comes from his double culture. 50% Swiss, 50% Brazilian, 100% showman: he is a star in Switzerland. One week long, with his band and Brazilian guests, he will perform every evening. You know when he starts, never when he ends up.

The “Orbital Choir” from the University of Music Lausanne surprises the visitors twice a day with a completely new project specially created for this opening week: a mix of musical performance, mechanics and acrobats! This Swiss project also has Brazilians on board, within the acrobatic team.
