Switzerland is also a country which makes wine! The association of the "Vignerons de la Côte Vaudoise" (the Canton Vaud Wine makers) organizes daily wine tastings with the intent of presenting the diversity and the quality of its vineyards and terroirs. The Chasselas grape varietal makes the most popular wine in Switzerland. The Chasselas is a dry, mineral white wine that goes perfectly well with l'Etivaz AOP cheeses, these two products are in Brazil for the first time.

Direct from the Swiss Alps these cheeses are crafted by families and are aged 16, 24 and up to 30 months. L'Etivaz AOP cheeses and the Chasselas wine make a perfect paring. This unique experience will be a single sample of the authenticity of the culture and the savoir-faire Swiss.

The workshop will be closed during the 22nd till the 25th of August and starts again on August 26th. 

Fee: 30 BRL per person for degustation of three different types of wine and three different types of cheese.

Already voted the best public viewing at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the House of Switzerland unites fans of all nationalities, to watch the competitive events live on a 24 m² giant screen and celebrate sport together!

One of the highlights is the 200 m² outdoor synthetic ice rink with a capacity of 50 people. The material does not melt in the heat and works without electricity or water. Visitors are able to borrow skating equipment on-site.

The Switzerland synonymous with education, research and innovation will be presented in cooperation with Swissnex Brazil. The “UrbanFarmersBOX”, a mobile urban farming unit, will be in operation at the House of Switzerland, explaining to visitors about sustainable urban food production and aquaponics technology, for the production of the freshest, ultra-local vegetables and fish on a large scale.

The Baixo Suíça will bring a bit of the winter Olympic feeling to Rio with its unique Ice Rink. Our ice rink uses high grade raw materials and high tech manufacturing, which results in a sustainable artificial ice technology, free of water or electricity use! Come and join us for some amicable body-checking on the ice!

The graffiti and plastic artist Carlos Esquivel also known as ACME, has created two panels bringing some swiss-brazilian lifestyle by combining our two most iconic tenis stars – Guga and Roger Federer. 

Born at the Pavão-Pavãozinho community in Copacabana, Acme is internationally known for his pioneering work in the carioca graffiti scene. 

He’s already exhibited in galleries across Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, France and Argentina. In 2011 he’s represented Brazil at the EUROGRAFF - where graffiti artists from around the world met and showcased their work and won the second place. He has been the leader of the winning Copa Graffiti 2012 team, where they portrayed the history of the Tomás Coelho neighborhood, and has been selected to illustrate Rio’s 450^th anniversary at the metro station Vicente de Carvalho during the Copa Graffiti 2014. On top of that, he’s actively participated in various projects across different communities in Rio de Janeiro, like the “Circuito das Casas-Tela” and the “Museu de Favela”, to which he’s been one of the leading founders.
