The Watt d’Or is Switzerland’s most prestigious energy award. From solar airplanes to efficient houses, from electric buses to smart grids, the recent Watt d’Or laureates offer a glimpse into innovative Swiss technologies and cutting edge developments dedicated to Future Energy.

Cities have to become smarter and more sustainable. Supported by swissuniversities, Swiss National Science Foundation and Swiss Competence Centers for Energy Research, a delegation of Swiss researchers will meet up with their colleagues in Kazakhstan to exchange insights and share ideas on the city of the future.

The event discusses how companies in the energy and extractive industries can prevent human trafficking in their supply chains, especially by identifying and mitigating human trafficking risks, mapping of suppliers, standardization of suppliers labour practices, internalizing costs associated with THB prevention in supply chains, managing reputational risks, pros and cons of social auditing, existing experience in CSR, increasing transparency and respect for human rights and use of new methods to obtain information on human rights violations.

From the 17^th to the 19^th of June 2017, the International Secretariat for Water (ISW), with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), organizes the first “Youth Regional Meeting on Water in Central Asia”. Around 20 young people from Central Asia and the nearby region between the ages of 18 and 30, who are active in the water and sanitation sector, will have the opportunity to exchange on and contribute to the required actions aimed at better integrated water management in the region.

The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) organizes a conference on transboundary water management. Delegations of the five Central Asian countries as well as representatives from the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs are attending the conference. The presence of the Federal Councilor Didier Burkhalter is also expected on June 19th. At the same time, a Youth Regional Meeting on Water is also taking place.

In this workshop run by the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences, a Swiss mountain region is to become C02 neutral. Students will find out how this can be achieved before discussing and analysing their solutions with a professor.
