Our specialities in Paris
It is now 11pm. The France-Switzerland match is over. Luciano and the DJ Mirko Loko are on stage, preparing their decks for the concert. Happy with the result, Swiss and French fans put away their flags as the team from Montreux Comedy switch off their microphones. Now it is time for the partying to commence at the House of Switzerland after an eventful and exciting day.
Meanwhile, the 27 Swiss producers who came to Paris to show off their products climb back onto the bus home: the plates are empty but their hearts are filled with joy. Today at Wanderlust, these purveyors of fine food brought a taste of Switzerland to their Parisian guests, delighting them with their products, traditions and flavours. Coming from all over Switzerland, these 27 prizewinning producers presented the best of their local produce: Appenzell honey, Lucerne cervelats, absinthe liqueur from the Val de Travers, damson liqueur from the canton of Jura, cake made with vin cuit from the canton of Fribourg, sheep's cheese from the Bernese Jura – the whole of Switzerland was represented at the feast. A terrace transformed for the event into a vast Swiss market, right in the centre of Paris.
Football wasn't the only thing on the menu at the House of Switzerland today, and nor was it all about the party. Switzerland showed both of its sides to visitors: the urban, modern Switzerland which is occupying the Wanderlust during Euro 2016, but also the Switzerland inspired by the land and its traditions. Through this tasting event, the 27 producers were able to proudly represent this image of an open nation, at home in a big city like Paris, but also a Switzerland that has never forsaken its roots.
